Elemental Awareness hits the road once a year for our annual Rez tour. We visit reservations across the country where skateboarding thrives. We feel that giving back to these communities is so important because we want these kids to know that the industry they love is down to come out and support them. Check out the video to see what it’s all about.
Elemental Awareness packed up the van and hit the road for 10 days through the southwest. We visited many good friends on the Apache, Navajo and Hopi Reservations along the way hosting three skateboard events and having a great time doing it. Thanks to everybody who made this trip possible. We are looking forward to the next one!
.The second stop of the Southwest Tour was in Window Rock, AZ. The event was held at the Raymond Nakai Hall where skaters showed up hours before the event to practice. Within a few hours the EA team and local skaters transformed the hall into a full blown skate plaza decorated with boxes, ramps, and rails. While the contest progressed Element Advocate Mike Kershnar worked with Window Rock locals to create graffiti art. Following the awards ceremony, there was a “worst board contest”, giving skaters a chance to replace their old board with a new one. Overall the contest was a hit for the town and EA. Special thanks to Gino and Molly Antonio for making the event possible. Click here to see more photos from the event.
