Yallah Artivism for Peace

The Official Launch and Fundraiser for theBedouins, a new non-profit with a focus on using skateboarding and street art as instruments of peace between Arab and Israeli youth. Yallah! Artivism for Peace is a group show that validates art as a vehicle for creative expression with a positive purpose. Support us in mixing art and activism for peace in the Middle East. The event will be a collaborative art show including skate decks, paintings, photos, video and music with the purpose of raising awareness and funds for peace projects for Arab and Israeli youth.

Summer 2010 in Seattle, Portland and Bend.

Make it Count Finalists

Over the course of the last six months skateboarders from around the world competed in the 2010 Element “MAKE IT COUNT” International Contest Series. The overall winner at each regional event won a trip to the finals at Element YMCA Skate Camp to compete for Element sponsorship. The Make It Count finalists met in the mountains of Sequoia National Forest at Element YMCA Skate Camp this past weekend. The contest was divided into three parts. Each part was held on a different part of the camp, 2 being street courses and one being mini ramp. At the end of the evening, Taylor Bray came out on top. Jason Singler grabbed second and Gage Smith and Bradley Elias tied for third. Thanks to Element and everyone at camp for an amazing weekend and an awesome contest.

Congrats to Taylor Bray of Dallas, TX who took first place in the 2010 Element “MAKE IT COUNT” International Contest Series! The skating was at an all time high, along with the camaraderie and every competitors encouragement for one another; making it an event like no other. 2nd place went to Jason Singler, and a tie for 3rd went to Gage Smith and Bradley Elias. Defending champ Vincent Luevanos killed it as well, and was announced continued part of the team.

Nearing the end of the Make it Count Contest Series, Element headed to New Braunfels, TX just outside of San Antonio. Skaters came from all over Texas for a chance to compete in the finals at Element YMCA Skate camp on June 20th. The energy in the park was high and the competition was fierce, but in the end it was Taylor Bray from Dallas, TX who took home the top prize and earned a spot in the finals. Special thanks to Goodtimes skateshop and the Jaws Skatepark crew for making this another amazing contest!
